The Christmas Song, often subtitled by first line, Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire, and sometimes by closing line, Merry Christmas To You, was a classic Christmas song written by Mel Torme and Robert Wells. In 1946, Mel Torme performed the song. He did not release a single version. The single version came that same year by King Cole Trio. The song became the signature hit for Nat King Cole, who went on to record other famous versions. Here are the popular versions of this classic.
