The 1984 Joe Jackson album Body And Soul is pictured here. Body And Soul depicts a simple throwback to an earlier era--a tribute to jazz greats who influenced Joe Jackson. The simplicity of the two-color front cover continues onto the back. The back is entirely black-and-white with eight small photos of the band members and lots old style text. The album notes describe the making of the album and the content of the songs. The cover is made of old style thick cardboard. The 12 inch record album itself is a very high quality pressing from a digitally recorded master that rivals the quality of many CDs. The album was recorded in five weeks. The notes say, 'The backing tracks were laid down 'live,' often in one or two takes, horns or piano were sometimes re-done in order to get the full benefit of the hall without leakage from other instruments.'
