Captain & Tennille was the husband and wife recording duo of Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille. In 1975 Captain And Tennille recorded and released the song Love Will Keep Us Together, co-written and performed by Neil Sedaka the prior year. Love Will Keep Us Together became a number one song, and the top song of the year. Number 2 song Lonely Night (Angel Face) was also written by Neil Sedaka. Nevertheless, member Toni Tennille penned some of the hit songs by Captain And Tennille, including 1980 number one song Do That To Me One More Time.
After the huge success of Love Will Keep Us Together, the previously released song The Way I Want To Touch You gained new life and became a number 4 hit. Captain And Tennille also made a number 2 hit song with Muskrat Love, a 1973 moderately popular tune done by group America. By this time, Captain And Tennille were on TV with a weekly music and variety series.
In 2006, Captain And Tennille pre-released songs from a Christmas album, with Here Comes Santa Claus and Tahoe Snow among them, both of which were originally released as a two-sided single in the 80s. The Christmas album, The Secret Of Christmas came out the next year.
