My Favorite Things was a song written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for the 1959 stage musical The Sound Of Music starring Mary Martin. In 1965, a movie version was made with Julie Andrews.
The song became a holiday favorite with the Barbra Streisand vocal version and the Herb Alpert instrumental version both receiving extensive play.
