The song title Sweet Dreams hit number one three times with three different songs. First, Air Supply had a number one with its pop and contemporary tune. Next, Eurythmics reached the top spot with its dance and alternative song Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This). The Eurythmics song was remade by Marilyn Manson and by Wykked Witch. Third, dance group La Bouche made number one with its song. Previously, in 1966, Tommy McLain made it to number 15 to gain a top 20 one hit wonder for himself with the title. The Tommy McLain Sweet Dreams was written by Don Gibson, who had two famous versions out earlier. This tune was sometimes called Sweet Dreams (Of You) and many country artists had popular versions, including Patsy Cline, Emmylou Harris, and Reba McEntire. Alternative and punk singer Elvis Costello also made a version of the Don Gibson tune. Finally, in 2009, soul and rap singer Beyonce made number 3 with her song Sweet Dreams. Sweet Dreams titles by Dave Sampson, Yes, DJ Scott Featuring Lorna B, and Swing Featuring Dr. Alban were all different songs.
