Mambo No. 5 was a popular latin dance song in the late 1940s, and received some notice in the US in 1950. Perez Prado, who popularized the song, was known as the 'king of mambo.' In 1999, Lou Bega hit number 2 with his version. A string of versions with different lyrics came out soon after, as shown here. |
