That's What Friends Are For was the title of the 1986 top song of the year. The song was written by Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager. Initially, in 1982, Rod Stewart recorded the song. But a few years later, Dionne Warwick got together with Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Gladys Knight and as Dionne And Friends, this all-star quartet remade the song for charity to the American Foundation For AIDS Research.
