The Tornadoes was a rock instrumental group. The greatest hit by The Tornadoes was Telstar, a 1962 number one song. Telstar was inspired by the launch of the first US communications satellite which provided for the first intercontinental TV broadcasts. The Tornadoes did not have another top 20 song, making Telstar a top 20 one hit wonder. Other songs by the Tornadoes received moderate airplay. |
